I’m sure you’re well aware by now that keeping up with Google’s changing SEO standards means the difference between your website gaining traffic and your website getting its links covered in digital dust. And you do NOT want anything to do with digital dust!
But no matter what your SEO approach, one aspect of your website you can never compromise on is speed.
Why Website Speed Matters
Think about it – do YOU like to wait… on anything?! Of course not!
And neither does anyone else, which means NO ONE wants to wait for a website to load. Slow loading means higher bounce rate, which, as we all know, Google doesn’t like seeing from websites when ranking the, in SERPs.
WordPress notes that as load times increase, not only does traffic decrease, but revenue as well, with as little as a 100-MB-increase leading to a 1% sales loss on Amazon.
And now that increasing the significance of mobile website SEO, which often loads much slower than desktop sites/devices by default, you’ve really gotta get your speed up!
Website Speed Quick Fix
At PuTTin’ OuT, one of our favorite speed boosters is very quick and very simple – if you’re using a WordPress website.
The W3 Total Cache speed-boost plugin is your basic plugin, but makes big changes. It upped our speed by about 10% while offering some nice CDN (Content Delivery Network) options, too.
It features a whole bunch of nice stuff for your users/SEO efforts, including “10x improvement in overall site performance,” browser caching for instant reloads, higher web server efficiency, bandwidth savings, and more. You can see the full list and download it here. There’s no reason not to!
