Twitter Suspends Accounts That Violate Twitter Rules

I realize some of you reading this article may be super happy that Trump is suspended from Twitter. You’ve never liked his tweets anyway. I imagine you’re pretty bored now. There’s no one to blame for rhetoric or incitement. I am writing this opinion article with links to facts so that you can begin to educate yourself on what this building block by Twitter is really for.

For those of you who follow my travel and design blog P.S. This Rocks NEWS section, you’re probably already enlightened by my thoughts on Trump’s Twitter suspension being nothing more than a way to further silence all Americans. After all, if the President of the United States can be silenced for what you’ll read below, ANYONE OF US CAN BE RAPED OF OUR FIRST AMENDMENT CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS OF FREE SPEECH IN AMERICA. After all, it’s the only thing that sets us apart from the rest of the world.

On January 8, 2021, President Donald J. Trump Tweeted:

“The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape, or form!!!”

Shortly thereafter, the President Tweeted:

“To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th.”

Twitter’s Reason For Banning Trump For Speaking Freely On The Social Media Site

Due to the ongoing tensions in the United States, and an uptick in the global conversation in regards to the people who violently stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021, these two Tweets must be read in the context of broader events in the country and the ways in which the President’s statements can be mobilized by different audiences, including to incite violence, as well as in the context of the pattern of behavior from this account in recent weeks. After assessing the language in these Tweets against our Glorification of Violence policy, we have determined that these Tweets are in violation of the Glorification of Violence Policy and the user @realDonaldTrump should be immediately permanently suspended from the service.

The Iranian President’s Account Threatening President Trump’s Life Remains Active To Date

All while Trump is banned on Twitter, other known radical leaders are threatening our overseas military, State Departments, and green zones which are supposed to be neutral zones. For example, on December 31, 2020, Military.com wrote, the following:

Maj. Gen. Abdolrahim Mousavi, commander of Iran’s army, said that Iran was poised with a “hand holding a sword and a sledgehammer” to strike against Soleimani’s killers, according to Iran’s Tasnim news agency, which has close ties to the IRGC.

Trump’s apparent red line for a retaliatory strike is the death of an American in an attack by Iran or its regional proxies.

Following rocket attacks on the U.S. Baghdad Embassy’s “Green Zone” on Dec. 19, Trump issued a warning in a Twitter post.

“Some friendly health advice to Iran,” he wrote. “If one American is killed, I will hold Iran responsible. Think it over.”

At the time of me writing this blog, Judicial Watch has 1.6 million followers. Many other social media influencers that retweet Trump or the campaign have reported the same.

Twitter Announced More Than 70,000 Accounts That Promoted QAnon Conspiracy Theory & Others Removed From Twitter

According to the Epoch Times, “Twitter announced on Monday that it had removed more than 70,000 accounts that promoted content related to the QAnon conspiracy theory.

“Given the violent events in Washington, DC, and increased risk of harm, we began permanently suspending thousands of accounts that were primarily dedicated to sharing QAnon content on Friday afternoon,” the social media giant said in a blog post.

“These accounts were engaged in sharing harmful QAnon-associated content at scale and were primarily dedicated to the propagation of this conspiracy theory across the service,” Twitter said that the removal resulted in changes to the follower count for some users, sometimes in the range of thousands.

The coordinated purge began on the same day that Twitter announced it would permanently suspend President Donald Trump’s account. Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel and Mexico President Andrés Manuel López Obrador decried the suspension. Trump said that Twitter coordinated with the Democrats to silence him and the 75 million Americans who voted for him.

The QAnon movement follows clues from cryptic messages posted on an anonymous board online. One of the theory’s prominent themes alleges that global elites are part of a satanic pedophile ring.

The purge appears to have ensnared prominent pro-Trump figures, including former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, who embraced some of QAnon’s slogans and terminology, and Flynn’s attorney Sidney Powell. Ron Watkins, the former head of the 8kun message board, which hosts the QAnon posts, also vanished from Twitter around the mass removal time.

Twitter’s explanation for the removal suggests that it blames QAnon for the violence in Washington and the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. It used a similar explanation to banish the president, alleging that his rhetoric incited the violence and that removing him was necessary to prevent further incidents.

“We’ve been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behavior that has the potential to lead to offline harm,” Twitter said.

The removal of QAnon accounts is part of a larger censorship search that has been carried out by big tech companies since Jan. 6. Google, Apple, and Amazon effectively shut down Parler, a free speech platform. Facebook, which has banned Trump until at least Jan. 20, began deleting all content mentioning the “Stop the Steal” slogan.

Parler filed a lawsuit against Amazon on Monday.

Twitter’s stock ended trading on Monday down 6.4 percent in the wake of its removal of Trump. Facebook’s shares dropped 4 percent. Fortunately, I sold off both my Facebook and Twitter shares a couple of months ago when they started silencing conservative influencers such as Candace Olsen who has sued Facebook.
